Hello Friends of Histamine Tapes!
I’m so thrilled to share with you the latest from Another Dark December. Jay is one of the oldest contributors to Histamine Tapes, being on the very first Antihistamine Compilation, under his other project name Another Forest Opera.
This album feels more akin to that previous project. Populated entirely with samples these tracks feature layered textures and abstract sounds that create a disorienting and unsettling atmosphere, mirroring the anxious nature of its title.
Despite not using synthesizers, the album has a distinctly electronic feel to it. The use of processed samples creates a sound that is reminiscent of early electronic music pioneers such as Karlheinz Stockhausen and Pierre Schaeffer. The result is an album that is both experimental and accessible, with tracks that range from brooding soundscapes to rhythmic compositions.
For physical album art Jay said “bring the fire,” so we collaborated on a zine style booklet with images culled from the cutting room floor of HT HQ. Jay gave the inspiration for buring a punched hole out of the cover.
Each album comes with this book, complete with liner notes, cassette tape, and floppy disk of bonus art.
This dense challenging album take your time with it. You will be rewarded. There’s some great ear massaging in this melange of cut up collage and industrial noise.

Also I never mentioned here the release on the latest net label album Itinere by Paco Maddalena. Many of you have already been listening, and I sincerely appreciate that! Lets keep it going. Any support you give to this will help raise money for Friends of the Winooski River
